The Falmouth Soto Zen Sangha celebrates each member taking their initial vows (Jukai) as Buddhist.
This is an important step of practice wherein one sets direction by turning beliefs into daily action. Our Sangha is honored by each new Vow-Taker talking to us about her/his path to Jukai.
Hokashi Chuck Cloutier spent 25 years of his life as a firefighter, 10 of which he served as fire chief. He retired in 2018 to pursue his passion for woodworking.
He grew up in North Attleboro, moved to Charlton MA, and now resides on Cape Cod. Chuck is married and has 2 children of his own and 2 step-children.
Hokashi began attending the Falmouth Soto Zen Sangha in February 2019. He took Jukai in November, 2020. On December 22, 2020, he will talk about Jukai, wood, and transformation.
108 Bows,
